Current currency in Argentina
The legal money is the Argentine peso. Many shops accept dollars, but it should change them at banks and exchange houses authorized for this purpose. The banking hours are Monday through Friday from 10 to 15 hours. Credit cards are more widely used and accepted American Express, Master Card, Visa and Diners. There are many ATMs throughout the city. They can be used to withdraw money across all major credit cards like Visa and Mastercard. There may be difficulties for the exchange of travellers cheques outside Buenos Aires.
Entry Requirements to Argentina
Foreign tourists from neighbouring countries only require a document to enter. Visitors from other countries must present their valid passport, with or without a visa, depending on the case. Ask your nearest embassy or consulate. Visitors from countries not bordering remain exempt from any tax effects of travel and new items with a value not exceeding u$s 300 and u$s 300 extra if they were purchased in "free shops" empowered in national territory. The maximum length of stay for tourists is 90 days. There is no requirement for any vaccination certificate to enter Argentina, except against cholera and yellow fever to passengers coming from countries where these diseases are endemic.
